CCP Admissions Criteria & Deadlines

Students enrolled in MVNU's CCP program are able to take college courses on campus, online, or at one of our partner high schools.

MVNU’s criteria for College Credit Plus/Dual Enrollment admission include either a) 3.0 unweighted high school GPA OR b) 2.5 unweighted high school GPA and a “college ready” score on an approved exam. Approved exams include ACT, SAT, and Accuplacer. If you have not completed an exam, MVNU will provide one attempt at no cost to the student.
MVNU has developed three pathway options, listed below.
  • Pathway 1: Submit official test scores. If you have ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer scores (not previously submitted to MVNU) please request a copy of your scores to be sent from your high school counselor or the testing organization to dualenrollment@mvnu.edu.
  • Pathway 2: Complete the Accuplacer test on MVNU’s campus. In-person testing is available beginning in January 2022. Click here for available dates and registration information. In-person Accuplacer testing is available to students at no cost. At this time remote testing is not offered. If remote testing options become available in the future, information will be updated here.
  • Pathway 3: Prior CCP course completion. Students who have successfully completed CCP courses through another college may submit an official college transcript in lieu of placement testing.
  • Submit an online application.
  • Request an official copy of your high school transcript to be sent to dualenrollment@mvnu.edu.
  • If ACT/SAT/Accuplacer test scores are available, please submit an official score report to MVNU
    • If your test scores are printed on your high school transcript, we will accept them as official.
Public School Students
  • Apply early and submit all supplemental documents (transcript, test scores, counselor and parent certification forms).
  • Course scheduling depends on enrollment status (part-time or full-time).
  • New Student Orientation is required and is scheduled based on enrollment status (part-time/full-time).
Private School and Home School Students
  • Apply early and submit all supplemental documents (transcript, test scores, parent certification form).
  • Submit an application for state College Credit Plus funding during the application window (mid-February through April 1, 2022). For more information on the funding application and process please visit the College Credit Plus website for Nonpublic and Homeschool families. A new funding application is required each academic year. For the 2022-23 academic year, the funding application deadline is April 1, 2022.
  • Please note: A copy of the college acceptance letter must be uploaded to the state application for funding. For this reason, it is in your best interest to apply to MVNU as early as possible.
  • Course scheduling depends on enrollment status (part-time or full-time).
  • New Student Orientation is required and is scheduled based on enrollment status (part-time/full-time).

Talk with your school counselor. Discuss your interest in taking college courses and how it fits in with your overall academic plan and career goals.

Apply to a college. Students are responsible for meeting deadlines, submitting application forms, and meeting criteria for acceptance into College Credit Plus. All students must complete an assessment exam to determine eligibility for participation.

Prior to February 1 each year, your district will provide information about the College Credit Plus program for the upcoming year to all students in grades 6 through 11.

An informational session will be held and all colleges and universities within a 30-mile radius of the high school will be invited to attend before February 15 each year. If you cannot attend, schedule an appointment with your school counselor.

No later than April 1, 2022, public school students must notify their school counselor of their intent to participate in College Credit Plus during the upcoming school year by completing and submitting the Intent to Participate form. After April 1, public school students will need permission from the high school principal to participate.
