Founded in 1968 MVNU is a comprehensive teaching university sponsored by the Church of the Nazarene within the Wesleyan evangelical tradition, offering associate, baccalaureate and master's degrees in more than 80 areas of study. |

We're located in Mount Vernon, 45 minutes northeast of Columbus. With a population of 16,000, affordable housing, good shopping and plenty of restaurants and recreation, Mount Vernon has been named one of Ohio's "Most Livable Communities." |

2,670 students (2,120 undergraduate and 499 graduate students) from Ohio, 23 other states and 5 foreign countries and territories. 6.7% of students come from outside Ohio. Students represent over 30 different religious denominations. 75% of fulltime undergraduates live in campus residence halls. |

Superior facilities housed in 33 academic and residential buildings, including multiple computer labs, an art gallery, and 2,000-seat R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium, Thorne Performance Hall, Visual Arts Center, Free Enterprise Business Center, Hyson Campus Center, Thorne/Library/Learning Resource Center, Jennie K. Over ninety four percent of undergraduates receive financial assistance through scholarships, grants, work-study and/or loans. |
| Intercollegiate Athletics |
The Cougars compete in NAIA Division II, American Mideast Conference, and the NCCAA. Men's Sports: Cross-Country, Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Soccer. Women's Sports: Cross-Country, Basketball, Soccer, Softball, Volleyball. |
