Gallup leaders provide insight into church engagement
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene University will host a Gallup Strengths/Engagement Summit for church leaders on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 7-9 p.m., and Friday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., in the Free Enterprise Business Center.
Joe Cavanaugh will serve as the special guest speaker.
The Gallup Strengths/Engagement Summit will elaborate on the Gallup Organization’s research into spiritually healthy churches and congregations. Gallup experts will show why talent discovery and development must precede involvement.
The Summit will cover in depth the vitally important concept of church membership engagement and why it is key to a thriving servant culture. It will share ideas for achieving the following outcomes: inviting others to participate, financial support, life satisfaction, and serving/helping others. Many would agree, growing the number of engaged members in churches is of the utmost importance.
Guest speaker Joe Cavanaugh is an associate partner with the Gallup Faith Practice Gallup has asked thousands of questions on the topic of religious attitudes and behaviors to more than one million people over the course of more than 65 years. Findings help religious leaders and scholars understand the state of the world's spiritual health. The resulting set of powerful tools help make congregations more effective and have a bigger impact on their members and their communities.
The Gallup Faith Practice will provide all tuition and materials. The $49 LEAP Seminar cost for this event will cover hotel stay (based on two per room) and meals. If a single room is preferred, the cost will be $85.
