Students enrolled in MVNU’s adult program take classes one night a week and in most cases complete a bachelor’s degree in just under two years. The cohort model allows the same group of students to take courses together throughout the duration of the program.
"I liked the cohort group a lot,” said Jennifer Ramey, an accountant for United Church Homes in Marion. “You got to know the personalities of your classmates. We were able to form study groups, and there were people with kids the same age as my kids.”
Classes in Marion meet at Marion Technical College. MVNU established the Marion program in 2005. The Marion site is one of nine MVNU locations throughout Ohio offering courses specifically designed for adults.
"Education is one of those things that will always pay for itself, even if it’s not with money. I couldn’t say that before completing the program, but now I see the value of education,” said Dan Wallace, another graduate.
Classes for the Bachelor of Business Administration program will begin again on Sept. 16 at Marion. Classes for the Master of Business Administration will begin in February 2009.
