
Prior Learning Credit (PLC)
MVNU is proud of the diverse backgrounds in our student population and your life and work experience is important to us. Because of this, we award prior learning credit (PLC) for college-level non-traditional education. We welcome students who have experienced qualified learning opportunities outside of the classroom, such as:
Prior learning submissions may include artifacts such as a transcript, certificate, letter from a supervisor, course syllabus, and/or learning materials as documentation. American Council on Education (ACE) approved training documentation or military form DD214 may also be submitted.
PLC documentation should give evidence of as much of the following as possible:
Transfer credit from one of our educational partners or from other accredited colleges or universities may also be applied toward your degree program. MVNU will assist you with obtaining your transcripts for evaluation.

- on-the-job training
- seminars
- standardized exams
- specific government and industry experience
- military service
- professional licensure
- corporate and/or professional training
- other activities with credible associations and agencies
- Bachelor of Business Administration – Management
- Bachelor of Business Administration – Organizational Leadership

- Sponsoring agency where learning occurred
- Name of instructor (preferably with biographical information or credentials)
- Location and meeting time(s) of the learning experience
- Learning modality (online, face-to-face, blended) and components (lecture, discussion, hands-on activities, etc.)
- Learning objectives
- Required readings or resources
- Criteria for success (What constituted mastery and how was this measured?)
